Visit the workshop
The old tack room holds four chairs, one model on the stand, and a kettle Edith added against some resistance.
Visits are Thursday to Saturday afternoons, by letter or by the form below, one party at a time. You will see the bench, the lathes, and whichever instrument is in its stand weeks, and you may wind it. The maker on duty explains what you are hearing; there is more in the sound than most people expect on a first listen.
Ashcombe Vale is fictional, and that is the only untrue thing on this page. The room, the beam, the log books, and the kettle are as described in the world of the site. If you would like to spend an afternoon in a version of that room, this is the closest a website gets.
There is no shop. Visitors who fall for a model go home with the catalogue page, a care sheet, and, if they ask nicely, a brass shaving from that morning's turning, which is the only thing the house gives away.

Finding the coach house
The lane runs up from the harbour road past the sail loft. Look for the brass sun on the door. In the world of this site the Harbour of Wrenmouth lies a mile downhill, and the tide ring on the Lunarium is engraved with its twelve ports.
Accessibility
The visit room is on the ground floor through a 32-inch door. Tell us anything that would make the afternoon easier and we will sort it before you arrive.
