Commissions

Two a year. Sized and finished to order on one of the six patterns.

A commission starts with a visit, real or by letter. You tell us the room, we tell you the model, and if the answer is that none of the six fits, we say so and shake hands. The bench does not build outside the patterns; that limit is what keeps the work good.

What varies within a pattern: size of the base, tone of the brass, the engraving on the ring set, and the wood. What never varies: the escapement, the stand, and the eighteen weeks. A commissioned instrument is identical in its timekeeping to its catalogue sibling, and different in every way you will notice daily.

The deposit is a third, the balance on delivery, and the waiting list is honest at about a year. Twice in the last decade we have returned deposits in full and passed a commission to the next name when we judged the match wrong. Both owners wrote back later to buy a Tellurion anyway.

Fictional workshop: no commissions are actually taken here.
